RTC was founded in 1972 and is one of the foremost companies in the Fall Protection. Since it’s earliest days, RTC (Research and Trading Corporation) has been recognized as the “Technology Leader” in the industry. For more than 30 years, RTC has provided both Fall Protection equipment and high quality turnkey custom solutions to the marketplace. The founder of RTC pioneered the concept of safety engineering in developing Fall Protection products and systems. Many current OSHA and ANSI standards came about from the work of RTC in understanding the influence of mechanical forces on personal safety.

In 1996 RTC was acquired Sellstrom Manufacturing Company and relocated from Wilmington, DE to Palatine, IL in 1997. Sellstrom has been a leading manufacturer of personal safety equipment for over 80 years.
